This is a beautiful scenic path for everyone to enjoy.

Coming from Derby toward Etwall there is a fractional decline of -0.5, with a tail wind over the 7 mile stretch it’s possible to get up to quite a speed.

Plenty of wildlife to see, pheasants, rabbits, crows, magpies and squirrels. I like to ride it early in the morning it’s not to busy and the nature is at its peak during the sunrise. In the afternoons it can get busy with footfall, and I tend to find in the afternoons the winds can pick up a lot.

Always important for cyclists to slow down and give safe warning to other path users, especially dog walkers as some dogs can be skittish around bicycles. There are rolling green fields either side and some beautiful scenery to take in, so take it slow and absorb the English countryside in all its glory.

We are very lucky to have such a bridle way that is so well maintained for public use.

A lovely walk, free parking at the Station Road end. Flat, good width, leads to Etwall where you can have refreshments in pubs . I gave it only 3 stars due to the number of dogpoo bags left in the under growth, and also the number of cyclists who don’t give any bell warning when coming up behind you, some very fast.

I love this nature trail, perfect for getting out for a walk or bike ride. Has a few paths coming off connecting to Mickleover and the countryside. Wild apples growing along the route too, good for making crumbles in autumn. Also, trail leads to Etwall and Mickleover.

Beautiful views. Take your litter home. Would be even better if some cyclists stopped treating this public FOOTPATH like the final stage of the Tour de France.

First time ever, that we took this route. Drove past it for many years and kept promising myself I’d walk it. Although it does actually span 350 miles right upto Berwick on Tweed (don’t think I’ll be walking that far). Wish we’d have set off earlier and got to Etwall so we could nip in at the Seven Wells for a cheeky one, all be it there is the Great Northern on the way back that do a gorgeous hot chocolate Xx Can’t wait to do it again Xx
