Very poor service. On 25/05/24 I was booked in for 8.00am so I made sure I was there before the doors were open. For brakes, a fairly manageable job and being the first customer of the day, I was surprised when their front desk told me they were going to keep the car for the rest of the day. I took it they were reluctant to honour the Breaks4life scheme which I had signed for on a previous visit. Nevertheless, the man said he would call me and let me know, so I took the bus home. He didn’t.
At 3.30pm I called the autocentre for an update as it was getting late, only for the man to say he had tried to call me 6 times and even sent me an email. None of it was true as I had been phone watching the whole day. There were no missed calls, no email – nothing on my phone. He told me it was late now to do anything so he was going to rebook me for the following Tuesday. Since the pads were covered on Breaks4life, for the discs only, he quote me £264, which is twice the amount on my...

My car was towed in for a repair (due to it not starting and the person who came out to repair it not having the parts). He thought it was the spark plugs but it was the batter. Halfords replaced the battery for a reasonable rate but also told me that I should pay an additional £512 as my entire exhaust system would need replacing due to a “front exhaust pipe leak”. Having replaced my exhaust recently, I was dubious of this. I took it to another mechanic who fixed the tiny leak where the silencer had been fitted previously using a tiny bit of paste (for free). I am disappointed that Halfords told me that everything from the “catalytic converter onwards would need replacing” as this was a blatant lie in order to get more money out of me.

Recently bought a second hand car and had a few surprises on the MOT but the team here were very helpful in organising a large number of repairs very quickly. Would definitely recommend

Would put 0 stars if I could. My exhaust had a hole in, so took it here to get a new exhaust put on. They said they couldn’t get the exhaust off so would have to smash it up to get it off. Took it somewhere else and they had no problem getting it off. Really spoke down to me when I took my car there with another problem, because I was a girl. Didn’t speak to me like that when I went with my Dad. Said I needed new back brakes which would be couple hundred pounds. But they are absolutely fine and still great 4 years later. Did my wheels up so tight no one could get them off the next day!

This is a garage you can trust. If they start work and find more is needed, or the job isn’t possible to do the way it was quoted, they will ring you to discuss the best way forwards and work with you to get a resolution.
