Thanks for your response, it is such a shame that the branch is being closed and I will need to bank else where in the future.

Excellent staff here, actually people behind the glass who can provide great service. So helpful

Shocking service. I have both personal and business accounts with Barclays and have watched the availability of a basic service disappear over a relatively short period.

Northampton had five branches 15 years ago, now we’re stuck with this or a hall in town full of machines.

Five counters became four at this branch when they installed the automatic paying in machine. Then counter one’s windows got plastered with posters, so absolutely no intention to man it, either.

With three counters left, you would think with all the branch closures they’d be able to find staff to open three counters, no? No. You get two on a good day.

If they trained the Stasi who pounce on you on arrival to operate as cashiers, the queues wouldn’t be out of the door. I’m sick of being told what I can and can’t do on entry, when I’m the customer.

On my last visit I was told that personal banking couldn’t be done at the counter on Mondays. The time before I got to...

Having read the reviews I reluctantly used this branch today (there aren’t many branches still open) I couldn’t have asked for a better service – I was greeted at the door by a very pleasant member of staff who enquired what I needed to do and offered me assistance. All in all a great experience. Thanks

I find visiting this branch is one of the least enjoyable activities to undertake. Besides the understaffing, long queuing and high temperature; I find some of the staff carry an air of jaded arrogance that can make them more obstructive than helpful. Not even covering the basics of saying hello and goodbye is truly shocking. If you can’t do that then what are you doing in a customer facing environment?

Overly complex regulations and a lack of willingness by staff to demonstrate ‘out of the box’ thinking plagues the whole of Barclays.
