I booked the afternoon tea for my birthday today at The Orangery Delapre Abbey
It was such an amazing time spent there.
Food was delicious and beautifully served, staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was explained from the beginning as it was first time for me to be there.
Very thoughtful of them to bring a lovely plate with happy birthday written on it. I was pleasantly impressed
With no doubt I can recommend The Orangery Delapre Abbey.
    Thank you so much!

The Orangery, Located in the largest park in the city center, Delapre Park, situated within the historic Delapre Abbey monastery building. The environment and food are both excellent.

This time, I had breakfast: Full English breakfast and Eggs Benedict. Especially, the hollandaise sauce tasted great, and adding smoked salmon to the Eggs Benedict was a good choice.

if u cannot take the heat stay out of the kitchen ….and today the orangery couldn’t cope with a mediocre bank holiday Monday… staffing appeared inadequate… management delegation really poor…below que of people wanting to be seated behind empty tables…I waited to be served while about 10 children with parents attempted to buy ice lollies, teas at the counter they could have got from the place round the corner. it’s not the fault of those serving…. it’s being poorly managed.

We were seated quickly by friendly staff and given one menu to share, despite there being a large basket of menus.
Our order was taken promptly, and the food came out surprisingly quickly.
My Croque Madame was delicious, and my girlfriend was thrilled with her cheese and tomato sandwich.
When the drinks eventually turned up, after I’d finished my meal, the coffee was one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
We had planned on ordering some pancakes for desert, but all staff appeared to have vanished.
I ended up going to for a wander to find someone as we had been waiting 15 minutes.
Once the pancakes arrived, they again, were perfectly cooked and we are so glad we ordered.
2nd round of drinks was just as slow. The pancakes were finished by the time the coffee and coke arrived.
Lovely venue with great view onto the fields.
I would ask that they fix the door coming into winter, it takes a long time to close and gets quite chilly inside when people keep coming in and out.
    A little more att...

The Orangery is a restaurant/café within Delapre Abbey grounds. If you are walking from the car park, then just go around to the right of the main buildings. We had a southern fried chicken burger which was delicious. Would highly recommend a meal or just coffee and a cake. They also do cream tea, which I have not had but am told is good. You may need to book this in advance. This restaurant is popular and always busy. We were here mid week at around 11:30 and all the tables were full. There is free parking at Delapre Abbey, and some nice walks and a walled garden, if you want to work up an appetite or burn off the calories. Would definitely recommend the Orangery.
