Rating:5 Great place for walking, the towpath is well suited to all people and you can walk as far as the Blisworth tunnel north and down to Milton Keynes and Cosgrove southwards. There are also plenty of great footpaths around and being relatively high up there are some great views too. Parking is sparse though with limited spaces around but there is a car park a bit further along the canal that can be used.

Rating:4 A really scenic spot, with conveniently placed benches from where to leisurely sit and view the coming and goings of the narrow boats across this historic lock. The lock keeper became the caretaker of the nearby Canal Museum where some of his own artefacts are also exhibited. Good pubs and cafes on either side of this spot or a short canal side walk away. Bring your dog.
