Showing 5 reviews Rating:5 I joined the club a year ago and felt right at home from Day 1. Everyone is helpful and respectful, and every training session is a great workout for body and mind. For those who had trained other arts before traditional JJ: you will be given a great opportunity to incorporate your existing knowlede into this. Shihan Roger and the Udansha will even encourage you to do so. Whatever has a chance to save your life when things go south will be carefully studied and tested on the mat. The way that traditional ju-jitsu is taught in Sei Jou Kai is traditional in the best possible way: we respect and follow ancient traditions, but keep a close eye on the dangers and challenges of the modern times.

Rating:5 Having trained in traditional ju-jitsu before, I was looking for a club where I could take it back up again after a number of years out. Sei Jou Kai was exactly what I was looking for. A very friendly and welcoming club, with experienced and knowledgeable senior black belt instructors. Definitely enjoying being back on the mat again!

Rating:5 Great instruction and a friendly atmosphere, great place for personal growth and a real chance to learn a true art form – you get out what you put in but are not pressured to try more than your limits, instead they show you that the limit is only in your mind and your capable of far more than you think. I’m in my late 40s and never thought I would be able to do the things I can now- Forward rolling break falls, backwards break falls, throws, blocks and locks. I can honestly say this has changed the way I see myself, my capabilities and has improved my coordination massively.

Rating:5 Extremely knowledgeable Sensai and Udancha and a very welcoming atmosphere. Always a demanding workout and wider social aspect is also great.

It can be tough sometimes but there’s a saying in the Dojo- the hardest part is turning up.
