This is the inspiration for ‘BB’S’ book, Brendon Chase. He was from Lamport and spent a lot of time in salsey forest looking for his beloved, purple emporer ‘appatura iris’. He wrote a column for the shooting times for years and often mentioned salsey forest.

Good facilities, could do with a few more picnic benched, great outdoor space we’ll looked after, easy to get too and plenty of parking, could do with a few more than 3 options on the parking meters

An excellent location for a family day out. Lots of walking routes of various length, all family and disabled friendly. Plenty to keep children of all ages interested and occupied. Excellent toilets, play areas and cafe.
