Showing 2 reviews Rating:5 A small site only open during the operational hours of the council office it shares a site with (Mount House). All that remains of the former palace of the Bishop of Winchester are some of the foundations, but these are interesting and well-described by a series of information boards. Kids will no doubt find the description of the toilet interesting! Plan on spending 10 to 20 minutes here.

Rating:5 This is a very hard to find archaeological site due to no sign posting. It is a covered archaeological dig with records dating back to the 10th century. Not much left but the foundations and cellar but still very interesting. It can be found if you head towards the council offices and on the right of this building is a small entrance leading into the site. Really facinating with information boards all round the fenced of site.

The entrance can be easy to miss. Enter via the road to Mount House, which is at the end of Station Lane by Church Green.
