The Mini Plant in Oxford is a great place to come for a immersive tour led by a tour guide. You will get on a few mini buses at some points to get around the huge plant. When on the tour you can be as close as 2 meters from live, operating robots assembling cars in front of you.

When I went on 28/05/2024, it was operating and we got to see where they weld the body together called the ‘body in white’ to ‘final assembly’ where they fit all the centre components like dashboards, engines, windows etc. In between the two plants, there is the painting centre, but visitors are sadly not able to see this. To fully experience it, you must go see it yourself as I cannot explain it fully in this review.

You get to see everything from sparks being flown everywhere to thousands of apprentice working on unique cars. Just bear in mind this is a WALKING tour, so I recommend to bring comfortable footwear. Also phones are not allowed, which is why I don’t have many pictur...

A great tour with good insight on how Minis are built. Our female guide was extremly knowledgeable & had worked in & around the plant for 42 years! A thoroughly recommended factory tour with a history museum Morris/Mini.

Wonderful experience throughout, the guide explained us each process of manufacturing and fun facts about the assembly line. From Raw material procurement and limitations of the unit she explained each detail. It was really worth the money.! Would definitely recommend if you are an enthusiast who fancy about how things work. We allowed to take photos only at the museum hence only these two pictures. Else would have posted a hell lot more!

The Oxford Mini plant tour exceeded all expectations. Our tour guide (and long term employee) Nigel, was exceptional. He had brilliant knowledge of the plant, could answer all questions from the group, he was funny and engaging and generous with his time and knowledge. Fascinating and informative tour for any Mini or motoring enthusiasts.

Really enjoyed our visit today with my son who is over from Brisbane. Thanks to our guide Graham aka Tommy for an insight into how modern cars are built. Well worth the visit. Many thanks.

If you are a Mini lover and happen to be around Oxford, and if you wish to know a bit of how your car is built? This MINI Factory Tour worths the effort! Though there are ton of information so technical that I have no idea what they are, throughout the Tour from the Guide Glen who has been working for Mini for over 20+ years, it is still interesting to know how the robotic arms connect every pieces of the frames together. There are 12,000 arms in Oxford factory, and it is amazing to see how they operate by programs seamlessly! No photos could be taken therefore, the only way is to witness the process yourself.

It was incredible to visit this place, especially inside of the warehouse where MINI cars are built through approximately 1,200 robots and humans coordinated between production and logistic. Undoubtedly, it was an unforgettable experience for me.

Fantastic tour and tour guides. You get to see the continuous production of the Mini’s from “body in white” to “final assembly”. I was totally immersed. Our guide gave in depth knowledge of each stage explaining what and how each stage was and worked. Answering as many questions as they arose.
