Seen in isolation overlooking the M40, the obelisk makes no sense. But look on an OS map (ideally on a pre 1980’s one) and you can see how it ties into the landscape and Umberslade park.
A line can be tracked from Tanworth, to the obelisk via the hall.
    Great cycling around there.

Enjoyed a walk past this evening, I’m leading a walk soon so I’ll be giving them a brief history of it.

It’s ok , I wouldn’t go out of your way to visit it. Like others have said there’s really not much else to do or any information surrounding it. I went up one of the late afternoons in the summer and was there for about 10 minutes before the local farmer? (I’m presuming?) Decided to threaten to call the police because they didn’t believe we’d just gone on a walk!

A bit of an oddity, no signage telling you anything about why it is there. Very muddy near the gate, best to take your wellies…
Across the road from a small Chapel where several of my relatives were buried… most of the stones got moved about 15 years ago when they sold it.
