Rating:4 Next up on the ‘West Midlands mixed grill tour’ we revisited the Soho Oak. One thing worth noting is any mixy from the Soho group will guarantee you a good mixy, great chilli chips and service – it’s the staple of the group.

Rating:5 A great place on the outskirts of West Brom town centre. The place was booming no matter what day we go on so booking is highly recommended.

The restaurant is spotlessly clean and so were the toilets which is always a plus point!
Service was excellent from the minute we arrived.
The food was amazing and enjoyed by all the family.
We had:
Poppadoms
Chicken achari
2 chicken tikka wraps
Mushroom fried rice
Chilli chips
Plain chips
Sausage and chips (kids meal)
Kids ice cream (punki)
Oreo cake
Great portion sizes and excellent value for money.
Had a really nice atmosphere and would 100% recommend. We will definitely be returning.

Only 4 of us this time so a smaller order. We went for the boneless grill, Soho grill, 2x lollipops, chilli chips, masala chips, keema naan and garlic chilli naan.
As mentions you’ll never get below a 7/10 grill at the Soho group. Tikka was the best, right amount of charring whilst staying juicy. Only 1 chop on the Soho grill, could have been bigger but everything nice.
Boneless grill again could have been bigger. Soho prawns were on the smaller side compared to other grills which use tiger prawns. All fresh and tasty though.
Both chips on the larger side, a little bit on the dryer side but recommend the chilli chips as a must.
Naan breads – keema was tasty lots of meat in the naan. Garlic chilli was slightly dry, definitely had better at other place...

The food is great and there’s a phenomenal vegan and veggie menu too – you deffo don’t miss out by going meat/animal product-free.
The portions are massive but there’s a little table by the kitchen filled with plastic containers so you can take your leftovers home.
Reasonably priced and well decorated inside.
Hightly recommended.

One star down for room for improvement on the Curry’s a bit too tomato base for me. But I will give another curry a try It could just have been my choice of curry (Butter chicken), although I’ve never had one like this.
Recommend the crispy chili chips but eat them while there hot. Fish Pokara is also a nice choice. I would recommend the boneless grill if u like your grills.
Gluten free naan is a nice touch given there is almost never an option for those of us who can’t have anything other than rice as an option.
Lamb Punjabi curry with the extra turka id definitely worth it.
