0 You have already voted! Rating:5 I took my bike in today to buy a new saddle as the one it came with was extremely uncomfortable. Rather than taking my money the chap running the shop suggested a minor change to the saddle position. He also tweaked my handlebar position to address a different problem. It’s like riding a completely different bike.

Upon explaining this to the proprietor, he explained that the cause was unlikely to be due a lack of servicing and that I’d be better off replacement a few components at a fraction of the price .
The work was carried out quickly, and at a more than reasonable price and I have had no further issues since.
I have subsequently returned and bought accessories, again on the recommendation of the proprietor, who is very much more interested in ensuring his customers have the correct product, instead of making a quick buck.
If you want a good, honest traditional bike shop – look no further!

I arrived to shop explained I didn’t know the required tyre pressure for my bike, which led onto a conversation about pumping up my tyre, which led to an unwanted lecture about how it not his job to pump up tyress.
This is despite saying I will pay for the service, I got walked out of the shop and door closed behind me.
I would have purchased a tyre pump, because of the bad attitude, I just wanted to leave.

Really cannot recommend this shop enough. The owner REALLY knows what he’s doing. I’ve been going there for well over 30 years and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Took my daughter’s bike in after buying second hand on FB Marketplace place and he identified the issue with a part on the brake and quickly fixed it and is good as new. Educated us on things we never knew! Will be back for any other bike related stuff as received excellent workmanship and excellent fair price!
Keep at it.
