Showing 5 reviews Rating:4 Arcade: The arcade at Hollywood Bowl Merry Hill offers a good variety of games that are initially quite enjoyable. However, the novelty can wear off rather quickly, especially if you’re a frequent visitor.

0 You have already voted! Rating:3 Modern bowling alley although the pins are on strings for price you pay you expect automated! Drinks are very poor selection and we’ll over priced! Wouldn’t rush back.

0 You have already voted! Rating:3 Having visited Hollywood Bowl with my nieces recently, I found the experience to be a bit of a mixed bag. The venue offers a range of entertainment options, from arcades to pool tables and bowling alleys, including VIP bowling.The arcades and games were decent, providing some entertainment value, and the air hockey tables were a hit with the kids However, I personally found the overall atmosphere to be just okay. The food offered was acceptable, but nothing particularly exceptional. The slots and games were alright, but nothing stood out as particularly memorable. While the kids enjoyed their time there, I didn’t find it as engaging or enjoyable as I had hoped. Overall, Hollywood Bowl provides a decent outing for families, particularly children, but it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

0 You have already voted! Rating:3 I can only rate the bowling and the drinks as we didn’t eat. The bowling is ok… but it is “string pin bowling”; in other words, the pins are held in place and pulled back up on strings like puppets. This is generally seen as not as good as automated pins, as the strings can sometimes prevent pins from falling when they should. It is cheaper to install and maintain… however, for the price you’re paying here, I really expected fully automated bowling.

Busyness: The venue tends to be extremely busy, which can lead to some frustration as wait times may increase unexpectedly. This can be particularly annoying if you’re on a tight schedule or looking forward to your game.
VIP Lane: While the VIP lane is promoted as a special feature, it seems that the exclusivity is in name only. Despite this, the limited number of lanes in the VIP area (only three) does provide a sense of privacy and exclusivity, which enhances the overall experience.
Overall Experience: Despite the setbacks with the busyness and the VIP lane not living up to its full potential, the private feel of the VIP area does add a positive touch to the visit, preventing the experience from turning negative.

As for the drinks, it’s hit and miss. I’m not sure if it’s a staffing issue, but our party of four was constantly made the wrong drinks. All in all I would reccomend just because it is fun, but make sure you know what to expect.
