Showing 5 reviews Rating:1 Was taking a journey through the area and I needed to top up my EV before continuing the 2nd half of my journey. I didn’t look at the reviews here before stopping by because I was driving. I spent only 45mins there and left to another charging station because I got fed up with the slow output rate of about 24kw/h. I didn’t see any warning sign stating that parking charges applied while charging.

0 You have already voted! Rating:1 Chargers noted on many apps, few tell you about parking charge. Never paid to park to charge before, didn’t see any signage. Received a letter saying I owe £100 for parking to charge. So it’s an expensive rate here. Avoid. Chargers also only maxed out at 37kwh, started at 15%. Shared connections? So premium rates for shared connections, pay for parking, not very customer friendly. Luckily I’ll never return as a one off visit locally.

A week later I got a £100 notice. Only to realize I should have paid £0.8 parking fee.
I,ve paid the fine, but unfortunately I’m never going back there and neither will I let someone I know charge there.
Now I understand why all chargers were free when I got there.

WHY WOULD YOU GIVE A LETTER TO “HELP WITH THE APPEAL” IF IT WILL THEN BE REJECTED.
And I don’t understand why on earth would InstaVolt choose a third-party car park to put their charges on, I had £100 parking fine for staying charging for 30 minutes, and even the appeal wasn’t successful with their supporting letter. You genuinely need to sort this parking issue, think about people coming to charge in a storming weather at night where they don’t even look to any signs except the charge screen. Or you have Shell maybe you should learn from them, where they can tell if you are parked for charging so they exempt you from receiving the fine.
