Showing 5 reviews Rating:4 The outside is very 80’s office block but once inside it was modern. The rooms were a long walk down two corridors and a set of stairs. Very basic amenities but slept well. Carpark was charged at £7 which was limited as there appeared to be a function on.

Rating:3 This is an acceptable hotel. Room was ok although a little small. Bed was comfortable. Looks to be going through a bit of a refresh with corridors being painted although this didn’t impact me at all. I will say that paying to park was very tight!

Rating:4 Nice rooms with a comfortable bed and good shower. The reception and bar area are modern and welcoming, with space for tenor working, but the rest of the hotel could benefit from renovations. The fitness suite is a very good addition. There’s a cardio and a weights area. The water in the pool didn’t seem too clean when I visited and the sauna apparently breaks often. The changing room lockers and facilities are dated and worn and really need attention.

Rating:2 Not great experience, When checking in, you feel as if you were served by a McDonald’s kiosk, without any emotions and only the desire to add something to the bill. The room and bathroom need a little refreshing. At check-out, the staff focused more on conversations between themselves than on the customer. Great location with large paid parking.

If it wasn’t for the ridiculous mark up on prices, I’d have given 5*
Facilitates great and staff where so lovely and friendly.
Pool and jacuzzi were fabulous.

The breakfast buffet is good and varied, however the restaurant menu is basic/pub like. There are a few restaurants within a 5 min drive.
The location is good for business travelers, but seems a bit out of the way for anything else.
All in all, it’s a good place to stay for a couple of nights, but not as good as other Mercure.
