Showing 5 reviews Rating:3 We stayed at the Premier Inn attached for 3 nights so we had breakfast and dinner here on more than one occasion.

Rating:4 Lovely meal from the set menu (circa £18 pp). Bit shocked to be charged an extra £4 for the sirloin steaks in our choice but I suppose that is what small print is about. The waitress was very helpful and attentive. Just wish that people would stop calling customers “Guys” and refrain from saying “Enjoy”, obviously this has come from our cousins over the pond. Needs to stop as it is unnecessary and Guys is disrespectful. It would have been nice to have had some Dijon mustard or French mustard, but according to our waitress they can’t get it anywhere. Should have asked me as there is plenty in our supermarket. It would be helpful if the prices of the beers were promulgated at the time of ordering.

Rating:3 Stayed in the Premier Inn next door. I had booked a table online for the restaurant but was a little late. They didn’t have my booking apparently and no tables left in the restaurant but I could sit in the bar, which was fine. I walked past lots of empty tables so I didn’t understand that, they were also turning people away. Lady behind the bar was lovely and helpful, the lady that I presumed was the manager was as miserable as hell and rude. The steak was nice, but I think they forgot to put the other half of the chips portion on my plate. It was ‘ok’, but I wouldn’t go back.

Rating:4 Good food (roast lamb dinner on Sunday) very acceptable. Indulgent chocolate brownie mini dessert with a very good flat white. Charming, friendly service from very competent staff. Alone & away from home but made to feel welcome & comfortable. Its good value food with good service – not fancy but not rubbish by a long way. Seemed quiet for a Sunday afternoon but that suited me.

Rating:5 We visited the Barn last night and had a lovely experience thanks to our waitress Billie-Jo. Although the restaurant was busy, she was kind , courteous, polite, engaging and patient with our children, her knowledge and recommendations on the food and drinks was superb and overall made it a pleasurable experience. The meal was great value for money, the food came out on time, and was lovely and hot, desserts were great and the cocktails were spot on.

Thanks for submitting your review!Sarah
Breakfast is OK but there are one or two points that need addressing.
1. No fresh orange juice! Who wants squash at breakfast time?
2. The toasters take forever.
3. I can see why they cook to order, but it feels like cheating people out of an unlimited breakfast, because if you do want more, you have to order and wait, which makes breakfast the longest meal!
Dinner, again a couple of points that need addressing.
1. The portion sizes. Whilst I don’t necessarily want to eat huge amounts, I’d prefer to not pay a large portion fee for a small portion plate!
2. There’s not a lot of variety on offer, so we got a takeaway on the 3rd evening.
However, Sophie the waitress was superb. She was friendly and efficient with a good sense of humour and she made our visit enjoyable. She gets 5 ☆, Thanks Sophie M!
But we certainly won’t be visiting again.
