Showing 5 reviews Rating:2 Had a bridesmaid dress altered here. Firstly, when I rang I was told that I could bring it in and it’d be ready within a week or so. Later that day, I took the dress in and after taking the measurements, I was told it would be ready within 3 weeks!? I didn’t kick up a fuss as I wasn’t in a rush. But still, why say a week on the phone in the first place?

0 You have already voted! Rating:1 I took a top to be altered in August and I have given up today and brought it home not done. First of all they phoned to say it was ready and when I drove all of the way there I was told it wasn’t done. They apologised so I thought nothing if it. I phoned to see if it was ready 2 weeks later and they said it was. I got there to find it still hadn’t been done but they were trying to to charge me as it was on the completed rack. I tried it on to demonstrate that in fact it hadn’t been done at all and left with it very annoyed and disappointed. What a waste of time.

0 You have already voted! Rating:2 I took a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt in to be altered (shortened and taken in slightly) before heading off on holiday. I came to collect the top a week later (as agreed) only to be told it hadn’t been done due to a large back-log of work, so agreed for a family member to collect the following Monday (today). When I got home and tried the top on, I found it looks ridiculous, and nothing like how it had been pinned. The chest and shoulders are fine, but the mid-section is far too tight (even for a slim chap like myself). The top and bottom of the top look to be completely out of sync with one another.

Needed a suit jacket altering for the same day, I went in at 9 30am to see if it was possible, they said yes they could do it for the end of the day. At 11.30am I received a phone call to say my jacket was done and ready for me to collect! 2 lovely ladies and an amazing service, thank you!

Secondly, when the dress was being measured, the lady behind the counter asked me 3 times if I would leave a review for them? I said I would when the work was done but she still asked if I’d leave a good review there and then…strange?
Thirdly, I’ve not been to a seamstress before ever so was unsure what was normal price. For the dress to be turned up and the straps to be shortened, it was £75.
Yes they’ve done a good job of it, but the other bridesmaid (who has a VERY similar dress to me and had the same alterations elsewhere) was only charged £30 for the same thing and had hers back within 4 days. I then googled the reviews for this pl...

I am bitterly disappointed, as I really liked this top, and it is now completely un-wearable – even though the actual quality of the stitching seems to be of a good quality. A pity also, because the owner of the business seems like a really nice chap and has done a great job in transforming the interior of the shop, but fundamentally the quality of the service are what matters...
