Showing 5 reviews Rating:5 Wightwick Manor and Gardens is an exquisite destination that offers a captivating glimpse into the Victorian era, blending art, history, and nature in perfect harmony. The manor itself is a splendid example of the Arts and Crafts movement, with its richly decorated interiors, intricate woodwork, and stunning Pre-Raphaelite artworks. Walking through the rooms, you can almost feel the presence of the Mander family who once lived there, thanks to the meticulously preserved furnishings and personal artifacts.

Rating:4 A good NT place. The manor is a really good example of a bygone era, with most rooms accessible and full furnished from that time period giving a fascinating glimpse into the past. Plenty to see of the old house plus a separate art gallery which is interesting. A coffee shop, ice creams and plenty of garden and woodland to explore means you can spend 2-4 hours here weather dependent.

Rating:5 This is pretty much round the corner from my house. Went for the first time with my Mom and it was wonderful! The guides were dotted around in most every room and we’re very friendly and knowledgeable. There is so much to see here and it’s wonderful to see the local history of the place. We didn’t have the energy to go round the grounds as it takes several hours to see everything in the house. There are interactive digital displays in a lot of places which tell you about the rooms, pieces of art and furniture etc and provides wonderful 360 degree photos.

Rating:4 Great Manor. At the minute, it’s having some much needed work done, so parts are covered over and scaffolding on the outside. A friendly group of volunteers are eager to chat with the history. The lady who was on kitchen duty was lovely.

Rating:5 Beautiful house and gardens. It was an impromptu bank Holiday visit. I’ll definitely go back to explore the gardens on a less wet day.

This is a great day out and you can have picnics in the lovely gardens. The gift shop has lots of diverse products but be careful – it’s easy to spend a LOT of money in there!
Went to the cafe, saw the price of a bottle of pop and walked out. Talk about avaricious!

The kitchen garden was disappointing, but hopefully a team of volunteers can fix that.
Usual facilities onsite and a secondhand book shop.

The house is very well kept, with plenty of artwork and historical items. It holds a few pieces of pre-Raphalite art among other interesting pieces.
The volunteers are knowledgeable and friendly.
There’s a tea room, reasonably priced gift shop plenty of parking, and a golf buggy to help those who can’t make it up the path to the house.
Update.. I returned on a lovely sunny day and again I wasn’t disappointed. This time we did the tea room, art gallery and gardens.
This house is definitely a great place to return to time and again.
There are some open air events planned in the summer, so I’ll maybe give them a try.
