Rating:5 Unfortunately we had to have our dog put to sleep after she suffered a serious stroke. Carmel Vets managed to get us an emergency appointment and were very caring and empathetic when we made the sad decision to have her put to sleep due to the severity of her symptoms and old age. We arranged for her to have an individual cremation and we collected her ashes just over a week later. They also included a paw print in a card, a lock of her fur, plus a sympathy card and small packet of forget-me-not seeds. Carmel have been very good to us throughout this whole process and have been very compassionate. Thank you.

Rating:5 Thank you for taking care of T4 in his last couple of weeks of life. The compassion, attention and attitude of everyone has always been exceptional, but the support over the last two weeks have gone above and beyond. If anyone is looking for a suitable vet for any animal, you will not find better than Warpole & Bingham (now Carmel) in Penn Fields, Wolverhampton.

However, recently (on the day I’m writing this, actually) I had an appointment with a vet that left me feeling a bit disappointed.
I was worried about my dog’s behaviour, as she was becoming a little moody and unpredictable after her spay op, and I know that when an animal’s behaviour changes like that it’s good to get them looked at, in case there’s a medical reason behind it.
Unfortunately the vet I spoke to didn’t even want to entertain this notion. She just said “it’s a behaviour problem, go to a behaviourist”, not asking any questions about my dog, her health, how she’d been acting, nothing. She didn’t even take a look at her, she just told me that she’d been traumatised by her surgery (she hadn’t), that I needed to win her trust back (I’d never lost it), and that she was having ‘dominance problem...
