Showing 5 reviews Rating:1 Unfortunately what a bad experience. Was told on a look around the gym that it was a cancel anytime monthly with no contract and a direct debit was set up.

Rating:1 Had a friend who had joined here, so I came to a taster with them. Was leaving the taster and called back to ask if I wanted to sign up, so I did. Gave over bank details and address, no problem. Some very sensitive personal issues arises meaning after 5 months I was unable to go. I sent them a cancellation email (with no response) and cancelled the direct debit. Fast forward 2 months and get an email from the direct debit company saying I owe outstanding payments and late fee, sorry what? No you’re mistaken I cancelled. ‘You are in a 12 month contract’. What??? Was not made aware of this at any point of the taster or sign up, nor did I sign anything on joining. Debit company won’t resolve so upon contacting the gym to explain their miscommunication, all I’ve been is fobbed off and ignored. Refusing to acknowledge their mistake of not informing me and not providing any sort of proof they did inform me. All I’ve been sent is a direct debit confirmation that THEY got from payment company ...

Rating:4 I love this gym. It doesn’t seem too busy. Having a sauna in the changing room is a huge bonus.

Rating:5 I joined @workhouse_fitness towards the end of 2021. It is everything that I wanted from a gym. Friendly and supportive staff, a great atmosphere, and great facilities. I feel like I’ve made new friends too.

Rating:5 Wouldn’t normally review but it deserves it – I have been coming here for over a month after been recommended by a friend and I’m so pleased I joined. Firstly ALL the staff are incredibly friendly, kind and helpful. You’ll always get a personal warm welcome and goodbye which always makes me want to come back.

On explaining my situation after a month I could no longer carry on with the monthly payments due to personal circumstances. I tried to cancel the direct debit and the company stated I am on a 12 month contract and would need to carry on monthly payments or pay the full year.
I was not informed of this and didn’t sign any agreement when i looked around the gym. I feel extremely deceived and lied to. I was also promised a reduced monthly payment due to working for NHS but hadn’t been implemented despite email confirmation of discount. . Had to chase for a refund which took over a week to sort out with an excuse that there was an issue with the transfer..The agreed reduced monthly payments have still not been actioned on checking with direct debit company when I was promised it would he amended.

Two things I’d love to see for it to be a five-star experience – free water station/fountain and hairdryers in the male changing room.

I started PT sessions in Feb with Fin and have been training twice a week with him since. Fin has introduced me to new boxing techniques, different exercises and has taught me alot about strength training too.
I would highly recommend this gym and the amazing team there.

Importantly, they’re always there to help me get to grips with equipment or exercises, and help tailoring workouts for specific goals. They have a good selection of equipment and it hasn’t been too busy and I’ve gone at various times of the day and evening & they have a sauna!
Only done a few classes at the moment but they’ve all been a great workout. Already feeling fitter and stronger and its such little effort when you actually enjoy going to the place! Thanks WHF team
