Rating:4 I found this to be quite a sad place with a unique tunnel abandoned and securely locked.

Rating:5 Well been watching videos plus reading up about this for the past 10 years on the history so thought while being in the area I would Come check it out yes it s all locked up but it’s good with the nature walk that’s been added plus the history boards around the place explaining the old station plus the remains are there to be seen I had a funny feeling station road behind the old swimming pool would have been my best route but decided on google maps which is never a good idea . I would recommend it but it’s very hilly but great for a little exploring away the hustle n bustle of every day life so was nice to tick this off the bucket list

10 railway sleepers mark tribute to 10 of the workers who died during the construction.
Quite an amazing construction through to the now flooded southern entrance. Part of the Alpine route as it was known owing to the gradients. As is generally known, the station originally at Queensbury was unique, featuring 3 platforms in a triangle.
At least some of the rail routes remain, as The Great Northern Railway Trail which is used for walking, cycling and horse riding.
Relatively flat with a few light gradients, it’s an easy walk to the Thornton Viaduct and further.
There are a few information boards for those interested in the heritage of the railway, but much more can be found on the internet.
