Nice atmosphere just a shame everything is so overpriced. You can buy a coronation chicken sandwich here for £5.40 yet go around the corner to home bargains on kirkstall bridge and only pay a £1.00. They don’t even do toast which seems surprising. Who knows what it would cost anyways?

With plenty of (free) parking over the road, Abbey House Museum is a lovely little day out.
Very much aimed at children and young people, there is lots to see and things for them to get involved with. There was the ‘gnome sweet gnome’ event which keot little ones (and parents) and us (with no kids) entertained and looking around the exhibits.
Layout could do with a bit of work (maybe more signage) but the most of the staff were friendly & helpful.
The old penny games upstairs were fun and you could spend a lot of time here with kids.

I really enjoyed this museum so much so I’d like to visit again without my children so I could take in a lot more of the stuff! My kids were so excited and really enjoyed the old fashioned street as well as the penny arcade. It was quite busy when we went as it was half term but not too busy as to be a nuisance and I did expect it with it being half term. That being said I have knocked a star off as the penny arcade was quite busy with children (to be expected) who were obviously quite excited but there was a member of staff there over seeing that section of the museum and she was very rude and blunt both to me and to the children (my own and other people’s children). I would visit again shame about that member of staff maybe she could do with some more training.

I’ve visited here a lot over the years. It’s suitable for all ages and levels of ability. I particularly love the shops and cobbled streets. Such a nostalgic place to visit.

    Brilliant gem of a museum.

Affordable entry and it’s discounted if you’re a Leeds resident.

Parking is just across the street in a public car park.

It takes just over and over, no more than 2 to visit the museum. The victorian streets are fascinating to look at, and very atmospheric.

Upstairs there’s a penny arcade with vintage machines. It’s pocket change to get pennies to use, and a lot of fun.

No bad things to say really. The museum is well maintained and one of the upstairs galleries changes exhibitions fairly regularly.
