Showing 5 reviews Rating:1 Visited here to buy some pond weeds and noticed that they were all rotting so decided not to bother. So we decided to have a look at the fish. Multiple fish were either dead or dying, one koi was floating in the tank on its side, barely alive. Lots of ulcers on a few fish too. The fish all seemed really neglected and underfed. This was really upsetting to see so we informed the salesman who said it’s because people try pick them up, this was very dismissive and he didn’t seem to care about the welfare of the fish. In hindsight we probably should have called the RSPCA. We will never be back.

0 You have already voted! Rating:1 I recently visited this store and unfortunately, I had a terrible experience. The staff seemed unhappy and tired, wich made for a less than pleasant shopping experience. The condition of the fish tanks was also concerning, with many tanks containing dead or unhealthy fish.

0 You have already voted! Rating:2 After a phone call to ask about a certain species my daughter was interested in, I spoke with a very knowledgeable lady and felt happy in making the trip out.

The team are amazing, very helpful, no pressure to buy just providing their expert knowledge. Charlie helped in ordering a specific product not available in store, and on collection, Iona and Kat spent time giving us best advice including talking through options on the best fish for us. This store will be our go to for buying what we need, this is thank to the amazing customer service provided by the team.

0 You have already voted! Rating:5 So great! Lovely little part of Tong Garden Centre. Kids can get right up and look at the fish. You can even buy a small amount of fish feed to feed the bigger fish in the main tank.

It’s disappointing to see the decline in quality at this store. It used to be a much better place to shop, but now it feels more like a neglected room at the back of a garden center. I hope that the staff and management can work together to improve the overall atmosphere and quality of the store.
Overall, I would not recommend this store based on my recent visit. I hope that changes are made to improve the customer experience and the well-being of the fish in the tanks.

Unfortunately the specific fish were sold out so we had a look at what was available in case something else took her eye. Whilst looking at the different tanks we saw several dead fish, fish eating fish, one actually eating a fish that was not dead. Not pleasant for me or my 2 children. My son said he didn’t want to buy from a place like this.
Your fish deserve more as do your customers.
