0 You have already voted! Rating:5 Wonderful place to come for a walk, long or short. The path is mostly level so fairly easy to walk along. Popular with walkers and cyclists alike. Usually swans, geese and ducks somewhere along the walk (if you’re going to feed them, please research what’s good for them.. no bread!)

0 You have already voted! Rating:5 Love a ride down the canal, Living in Wigan im right on the canal. I started in Liverpool and cycled to Wigan, the start is undergoing work so it was a bit tricky on a bike to get going. After that plain sailing with no stops. Inly one bit near scarisbrick I think was a bit messy but as it was a dry day the ride was great. I plan to do the whole lot in a day soon, Liverpool to Leeds. I have also cycled the manchester leg, around Astley/Tyldsley is lovely with lots of history. The whole canal is amazing with lots of sights

0 You have already voted! Rating:5 Very scenic long canal. Popular with walkers, families, runners and cyclists. Plenty of free parking around to start your visit from. Can visit nearby places such 5 rise locks, Saltaire (heritage site village), Roberts Park, Apperley Bridge marina, Leeds etc. Great for a day out in the countryside. Take a torch if you intend to go later in the day. Lots of woodland sections.
